Goats at Gather Farm

We are honored to be carrying forward part of the Simmons Family Farm legacy here at Gather Farm by welcoming many of their beloved goats into our care this year. These animals have been a meaningful part of Simmons Farm’s story and we’re committed to ensuring they remain a source of joy, connection, and peace for all who visit. Come meet our new friends!

  • We always recommend wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. The route of the goat hike is currently on flat grass paths around the farm fields. Sturdy shoes and warm hiking attire are recommended in the winter. Sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing layers, and sun protection recommended for the warmer months. If you have any questions about the environment or the hiking terrain please reach out!

  • We understand emergencies arise. You may request to cancel a ticket for a full refund (less a $5 processing fee) if your event is scheduled more than 7 days from the date of your cancellation request. Otherwise we will always happily reschedule your ticket to a later date. In the event of rain or other extreme weather (in which the goats refuse to go outside or it is unsafe conditions for animals or humans) you will be contacted to reschedule your hike for another available date/time that you would prefer.

  • While these amazing creatures are certainly spirited and full of life, they are very peaceful, gentle, curious and comfortable being around humans since birth. The herd is comprised of 13 adult females (does), 1 wether (a neutered male), and 5 sweet kids (baby goats) and counting! Being herd animals they prefer to stay together when traveling so you don’t have to worry about them wandering far. Most of our goats have had their horns removed for their safety. And while this is a very family-friendly experience and the goats are on average only a few feet high this can be the same height as many of our young human visitors so it’s important for children to be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Water and hot drinks and hand washing stations are available in the Rosemary-Fig greenhouse after your visit with the goats and we welcome you to stick around and see what else is growing at the farm!
